GVA has one main terminal building split into two sectors: Terminal 1 (T1, Swiss/Schengen sector) and the French Sector (Sector F, exclusively for flights to/from France under the 1987 Franco-Swiss agreement). Both sectors share the same building but are separated by passport control; moving between them requires going through border checks. No shuttle needed - walking distance is under 5 minutes within the terminal.

All major rental counters are located on Level 0 (ground floor/arrivals hall) of the main terminal, in the dedicated 'Car Rental' zone directly accessible after baggage claim. The rental car fleet/vehicle pickup is in the adjacent multi-storey car park P6 (Parking Relais), connected by a covered walkway approximately 100 meters from the arrivals exit. Counters typically open 07:00–22:00, though Hertz and Europcar extend to 23:00 on peak days.
